Project number: 101056279
Project description:
GAEA is a forward-looking project, aiming to improve the quality of entrepreneurship education in the agriculture sector for young women not in employment, not in training (NEETs) living in rural areas. Aligned with the latest EU priorities, GAEA is fully encompassing the priority of sustainable development and green transition. The project is also aligned with the EU’ Common Agricultural Policy. The project’s main aim is to provide a solid connection basis amongst the sector’s key stakeholders, through the introduction of a one-stop-shop (OSS) digital platform. The platform, will include a number of key training material, industry links, mentorship and coaching opportunities, and a highly innovative application which will give the opportunity to young women to assess their skills based on ESCO classification.
Target group
- Women neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET situation) living in rural areas
- Women with a migrant background
- Higher education students (HE students)
- Higher education staff (HE staff) – Academia
- VET trainers and professionals providing career consulting services
The main objectives of the project are:
- Empower women from rural areas on the skills, knowledge, values and attitudes to pursue opportunities to be entrepreneurial, innovate and generate sustainable growth and employment in agriculture, agrifood and agrotourism.
- Improve the framework conditions and personal and societal mindsets to strengthen resilience, boost innovation, enhance the digital transformation and achieve more responsive, cohesive and future-proof rural communities.
- Promote new professional pathways and tailored career counselling, guidance and mentoring for women in rural areas by linking training and educational contents to skills that can be easily understood by the labour market, thus making up- and re-skilling.
- Build a long-lasting multidisciplinary and multistakeholder Alliance that can co-create and transfer knowledge and exchange practices to solve societal challenges and labour market needs, and advocate for more informed policies concerning the role of women in agripreneurship, agrifood and agrotourism.
- Enhance the cooperation between education and training, research, labour market, the public sector and the business sector to foster the adoption of common European competence frameworks (with special reference to EntreComp and DigComp) and instruments (such as ESCO) that increase transparency and recognition of skills.
