Project description

Emotional education, often referred to as emotional intelligence or emotional literacy, is the process of developing and nurturing the ability to recognise, understand, manage and use emotions effectively in various aspects of life. It includes learning to recognise and express emotions, empathise with others and regulate one’s own emotional responses. Emotional education is essential for personal development, healthy relationships and overall wellbeing.

The main outcome of the DIST-SEED project will be the development of a digital storytelling toolkit through adult social-emotional education (consisting of an adult guide and a practical guide) to be used by a group of adult education professionals – trained by the project – with their students to teach them digital skills and support them in finding a new learning/work/life path.

Target group

  • Educators and teachers from adult education institutions, as well as future educators and teachers who are currently studying and at the same time doing internships in adult schools.
  • University professors who are training future adult educators.

Project results

  • R1: Cooperative design of the Digital Storytelling through Social-Emotional

Education for Adults Toolkit, and its testing through Classroom Workshops/ sets of lessons – aims to create digital materials, a guide and tools for teaching Digital Storytelling through social-emotional education for adults and to test these products with adult learners in education centres. The programme is intended to support teachers in adult education centres by offering innovative educational frameworks and tools to enhance learners’ self-efficacy and promote their social and emotional inclusion, while improving their digital and communication skills.

  • R2: Face-to-face Learning, Training and Teaching workshops on Social-Emotional

Education and Digital Storytelling – Training teachers and adult educators and trainers in partner organisations in Digital Storytelling methodology through social-emotional education to support young adults and adult learners in challenging situations. The outcome aims to improve the digital skills and teaching competences of adult teachers and trainers through an innovative, creative and engaging educational approach.
