Metacognitive Skills & Building Environmental Awareness

Who is it for?
The training is aimed at vocational education and training (VET) learners, vocational training organisers and practitioners, and anyone interested in the topic of metacognition in an ecological context.
Duration of training
Training duration – 15-hour MOOC. Participants decide for themselves how intensively they want to study, depending on their availability.
Aims of training
The training is practical and theoretical in nature.
After completing the training, participants should have acquired knowledge about:
- The metacognitive competence framework for ecological thinking
- Environmental metacognitive strategies
- Methods of supporting ecological awareness through the development of metacognitive knowledge and skills
- The use of a reflective library of digital stories in VET education
- The functionality and possibilities of using the MOOC platform in the educational process

Before starting the training, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the „Metacognitive Competence Framework for Ecological Thinking” to better understand the key concepts covered in the course and to proceed with the self-assessment in each module.
Training resources
Participants gain access to a free MOOC platform, including training modules, a digital story library, and a creation guide.
7 training modules, each tailored for both VET learners and trainers.
Participants have access to educational materials even after completing the training.
