European Project identifies Data Privacy Day as an opportunity to focus on the needs of Young People <\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the first International Data Privacy Day in 2006, 28 January has been dedicated to the effort of empowering and educating people in the protection of their privacy and personal data whenever surfing or purchasing goods and services on the net.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

M\u0142odzi ludzie w ca\u0142ej Europie zwi\u0119kszaj\u0105 aktywno\u015b\u0107 w Internecie ka\u017cdego dnia: poszukuj\u0105 informacji, kupuj\u0105 aplikacje lub sp\u0119dzaj\u0105 czas na portalach spo\u0142eczno\u015bciowych. Czasami ta aktywno\u015b\u0107 odbywa si\u0119 pod nadzorem rodzic\u00f3w lub nauczycieli, czasami jedna bez niego. <\/p>\n

Samo poj\u0119cie nadzoru wskazuje, \u017ce m\u0142odzi ludzie reprezentuj\u0105 najbardziej zagro\u017con\u0105 cz\u0119\u015b\u0107 europejskich obywateli w kontek\u015bcie ochrony danych, wobec tego potrzebowa\u0107 b\u0119d\u0105 szczeg\u00f3lnego wsparcia i przewodnictwa w tym zakresie.<\/p>\n

Poprzez dzia\u0142ania projektu chcemy podkre\u015bli\u0107 znaczenie priorytetu kultury “dobrego obywatelstwa w Internecie” oraz bezpiecze\u0144stwa m\u0142odych u\u017cytkownik\u00f3w Internetu, bez wzgl\u0119du na to czy przekaz w tym temacie b\u0119dzie wysy\u0142any od Komisji Europejskiej, w\u0142adz krajowych lub doros\u0142ych obywateli np. rodzic\u00f3w i nauczycieli.<\/p>\n

28 stycznia 2014, w Mi\u0119dzynarodowym Dniu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, zesp\u00f3\u0142 projektu IOR pragnie zwr\u00f3ci\u0107 uwag\u0119 na znaczenie po\u015bwiecenia czasu w kszta\u0142cenie m\u0142odych ludzi na temat tego, \u017ce korzystaj\u0105c z Internetu, zostawiaj\u0105 po sobie \u015blad.<\/p>\n

Projekt IOR jest finansowany przez Program Daphne III i jest realizowany przez partner\u00f3w z 27 kraj\u00f3w, maj\u0105c na celu wzrost \u015bwiadomo\u015bci w zakresie prawid\u0142owego korzystania z sieci spo\u0142eczno\u015bciowych w\u015br\u00f3d m\u0142odych Europejczyk\u00f3w w wieku 10-17 lat.<\/p>\n

Young people across Europe are increasing their use of the WWW every day \u2013 seeking information, purchasing Apps, or simply using the current social networks. Sometimes they perform these Web=based activities under supervision, or with the approval of their parents and teachers, and sometimes without.<\/p>\n

Even the notion of such guidance indicates that young people represent the most vulnerable strata of European citizens when considering data protection issues, and so they need levels of protection and specific information that addresses their special vulnerability to data being misused, youthful indiscretions being locked into their digital footprints, or their rights being ignored.<\/p>\n

Through this statement, we wish to underscore the importance of prioritising a culture of \u2018good online citizenship\u2019 and safety for young \u2018netizens\u2019, whether the messages to this end be communicated from the European Commission, from public authorities, or from adult citizens such as parents and teachers.<\/p>\n

On 28 January, being International Data Privacy Day 2014, the IOR project in collaboration with all of its associate organisations wishes to send a clear message that identifies the importance of investing time in guiding our young people towards becoming more vigilant concerning their digital footprint.<\/p>\n

Financed via the Daphne Initiatives by the EU, and with the involvement of 27 organizations from various states Europewide, the IOR project remains committed to raising awareness on the appropriate use of the social networks among young Europeans aged between 10-17.<\/p>\n
